The Cape Cod Canal 100 year celebration is
tonight, with fireworks scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. This display
has been promoted nationwide as one of the largest fireworks displays of
the year. Viewing for this event will
be from the shoreline along the Cape Cod Canal, the shoreline from Onset
Bay and the waterways at the west end of the canal.
Please
note that pedestrian traffic on the Bourne Bridge will be CLOSED off at
8:00 p.m. Parking for the event can be found on the Cape Cod Canal

The Massachusetts State Police in conjunction with the Bourne Police
and Fire Department as well as the Wareham Police and Fire Departments
will be actively monitoring the event.

expect a high volume of traffic and traffic backup is expected. For
